Dr. B. Brahmaiah is a Master in Commerce and Business Administration and holds a Doctoral Degree in Finance from Gujarath University. He is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, Mumbai and holds a Diploma in Treasury, Risk and Investment Banking.

Dr Brahmaiah has worked with the Institute of Public Enterprises (IPE), Hyderabad, National Institute of Financial Management (NIFM), New Delhi, Training and Research Institute of the Bombay Stock Exchange as Professor of Finance and as Assistant Professor of Finance at Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. He was also a Faculty member (Finance and Accounting) at the Institute of Rural Management (IRMA), Anand and Research Associate, Finance and Accounting at IIM, Ahmedabad. He was CEO and Whole-time Director in Mafatlal Securities Limited
