Dr Chitra Rao is a Masters in Industrial & Development Psychology and holds a Doctoral degree in Applied Social Psychology from Osmania University, Hyderabad.

Dr Rao has taught in India and abroad and is a recognized Doctoral guide. She is an accredited trainer with the Indian Society of Applied Behavioral Sciences, National HRD network and Association of Development Financial Institutions in Asia and Pacific (ADFIAP), Manila. Prior to joining IDBI Staff College, Dr. Rao was with the National Institute Of Small Industry Extension Training, GOI, Hyderabad.

Dr Rao has received training in prestigious international institutions like the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Harvard University and at the Association of Development Financial Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP), Manila.

Dr Rao’s areas of specialisation include Organizational Behavior, Enterpreneurship Development, Training Technology and Corporate Governance. She has designed and conducted Competency Development Programs as part of the Assessment Development Center exercise for IDBI Officials.

Designing and conducting training programs on Executive and Management Development, Corporate Governance, Competency Development, Team Building, Effective Leadership etc. and is also handling a consultancy assignment on behalf of IDBI Staff College for a foreign bank for competency mapping / profiling for organizational restructuring.
